Effective at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, the Kingsport Aquatic Center will close to the public until further notice. This decision, recommended by the Center for Disease Control and the Sullivan County Regional Health Department, is part of a city-wide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus, in our community. Safety of our guests and our teammates continues to be our main priority.

On March 16, all programs, classes and events at the Kingsport Aquatic Center were suspended indefinitely. This includes group and private swim lessons, water aerobics classes, training courses, Masters swim team practice and all other programs.

As of March 17, the CDC recommends that for the next 15 days, organizers cancel or postpone in-person events of 10 or more people; and for the next eight weeks, cancel events of 50 or more people. If you have booked a rental between now and April 3, please reach out to us directly with any questions or if you wish to cancel.

Please do your part to slow the spread of germs. For more information on behaviors that help ensure good personal health, please visit CDC.gov. Here are some basic recommendations:

  1.     If you’re sick, stay home.
  2.     Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  3.     Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and wash them often.

We will continue to monitor the effects of COVID-19 and any new information available. When we know more about when we may reopen or what our operating schedule will look like, we will provide updates on our website. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
