Junior Viperfish Swim Team
Jr. Viperfish Swim Team is a developmental, non-competitive swim team focused towards individuals 3 years old to 18 years of age. This program provides the opportunity for swimmers to improve stroke technique and build endurance in a fun group environment. Swimmers looking to participate must be able to comfortably swim 25 yards freestyle unassisted.
This team has three experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping your children grow their swimming abilities.
Just like the Jr. Viperfish Summer League, we are flexible here and you can come to as many practices as you wish or as little. Coaches recommend coming to as many as possible to work on stroke performance and fitness.
If you are looking for individual fitness, joining middle school or high school swim team, or just looking for a fun group workout for your children, this is a great opportunity for them.
If you are interested in signing your child up for the team please contact Madison Gump at madisongump@kingsporttn.gov for a swim evaluation so your child can be placed in the correct group. If you participated over the summer you will stay in the same group as the summer league.

Junior Viperfish Summer League
The Kingsport Aquatic Center has their own junior summer league swim team – the Junior Viperfish Summer League!
Practices are fun, and swim meets are optional. Most meets will be held right here in your home pool! Before the season begins, we will host parent meetings for more information. Bring your swimmers, as we will have a swim assessment for them, too.
2024 season schedule coming soon
There are no tryouts—the team welcomes all swimmers ages 6 and up of any ability.
No competitive experience is required for joining the Jr. Viperfish team. The East Tennessee Summer Swim League program is designed to be an introduction for swimmers to the competitive swimming realm, in a fun atmosphere. It is not designed to teach kids to swim, but improve their basic swimming skills. Swim lessons are available throughout the year at the KAC to build foundation swimming skills.
The cost is $125 per swimmer for Kingsport Aquatic Center, $150 per swimmer for YMCA members and $175 per swimmer for nonmembers. There is a discount for siblings wanting to join.

Parents/guardians are required to stay on site and walk their child into practice. This is important because in an emergency the coaches need to be able to locate parents/guardians right away. The coaches may need to talk with parents/guardians so please ensure you are always at practice and onsite with your child.
