Outdoor Lap Pool

Monday – Friday:

  • FYI: The Outdoor Lap Pool will be closed to the public for the next two weeks (September 14 – 27).

    With active construction taking place near the pool, we cannot safely maintain public access to the area during this phase of the project. The safety of our guests and staff is our priority, and we do not want to allow public access when conditions may present a potential safety risk. Kingsport Aquatic Center plans to reopen the Outdoor Lap Pool on Monday, September 28, pending construction progress and confirmation that the area is safe for public use.

    The Masters Swim Team will be utilizing the pool from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. during these two weeks, as daily work will not begin until 7 a.m. All dates and access are subject to change as we receive updates from the construction crew.

Swim Meet Schedule

The Kingsport Aquatic Center hosts indoor swim meets year-round in the Competition Pool. Swim meets may alter the pool’s operating hours. Southern Watershapes Inc., will be performing this improvement project for the city, which will include the following:

  • Five pools will receive new plaster, updated tile, edge treatments, guttering improvements and new filtration components.
  • Pump room upgrades will include replacement and updates to chlorine lines and related mechanical components.
  • All main drains throughout the facility will receive new compliant drain covers.
  • Indoor slide will receive a new gel coat finish and updated structural paint.
  • Indoor splash pad spray features will receive updates and improvements.
  • Outdoor leisure pool and play structure will receive updated paint and new plexiglass components.

The KAC plans to reopen the facility in January. A reopening update will be provided to the public in December.
