- Winter Break Camp – December 22, 23, 26, 29, 30 and January 2
- American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Camp is designed to guide youth to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. Participants are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. They should learn techniques and build stamina during this program. Each participant will need to bring a lunch, towel, swimsuit, swim shirt, and a change of clothes.The Junior Lifeguarding course does not certify participants in first aid, CPR or AED, or as a lifeguard.Campers will need to pack their lunch for the day. Lunch will take place at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. This course is $200 per person and geared towards 13 – 14 year old kids.Drop off: 7:45 – 8:15 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Pick up: 4 – 5 p.m.Course Prerequisites (Must be scheduled prior to the first day of camp.)
Before entering Junior Lifeguarding, participants must demonstrate the following skills:
◼ Swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
◼ Swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
◼ Complete the Water Competency Sequence
– Enter the water and completely submerge
– Recover to the surface and remain there for at least 1 minute (floating or treading)
– Turn 360 and orient to the exit
– Level off and propel oneself on the front or the back through the water for at least 25 yards

- Glow Swim – January 3, 2026
- Join us for our 2026 Glow Swim on Saturday, January 3 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
- Children of all ages are invited to attend, but those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Pre-registration will be $4 per person. Cost will be $6 per person at the door.
- The Kingsport Aquatic Center will dim the lights and fill the pools with glow sticks of all shapes and sizes. Children can then swim in the “glow pools” and play on inflatables while their favorite music plays over the loudspeakers. Children are encouraged to bring their own glow sticks to the party. It’s the perfect way to mark the end of winter break and the beginning of the New Year.
